I’m not a huge fan of Halloween. I can take it or leave it.
It’s fun, for sure.
Pumpkin carving is great. The effort and flair folks put into décor is truly amazing.
But I like early bedtimes and evenings at home.
Thus, parties and trick-or-treating are not necessarily for me.
BUT fun and exciting food and appetizers are definitely in my wheelhouse.
This creepy, Halloween-like appetizer made with prosciutto and cheese and a touch of balsamic glaze (for blood) will entertain all of us for a long, long time.
Prosciutto Cheese Roll Halloween Hand
1 prosciutto-basil cheese roll
1 pkg. mini prosciutto cheese rolls
4 oz. sliced prosciutto
1 pkg. Boursin cheese
1-2 tsp. balsamic reduction
5 sliced almond pieces
Place your hand and wrist on parchment paper and trace an outline of the shape.
Place the large prosciutto cheese roll in the area of the forearm and wrist on the paper and the mini rolls in the finger areas.
Use the Boursin to form into the body of the hand.
Top with thin slices of prosciutto, forming into a full hand.
Press sliced almonds into the “fingertips” to mimic fingernails.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
Slice to reveal the “insides.”
