A nice change from the traditional burger, these ultra-juicy Wagu beef burgers are packed full of the sweet and spicy flavors of Desert Pepper Trading Company’s Peach Mango Salsa and served with caramelized onions and fresh cilantro.

Peach Mango Wagu Beef Burgers

1 lb. ground Wagu beef (or high quality 80% lean ground beef)
2/3 cup Desert Pepper Trading Company’s Peach Mango Salsa
1 large egg
¼ cup plain breadcrumbs
kosher salt and pepper
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
2 Tbs. butter
1 Tbs. maple syrup

2 brioche buns

Fresh cilantro

In a large bowl, mash together the beef, salsa, egg, salt, and pepper.

Form the mixture into two or three large hamburger patties.

Set aside.

In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Sauté the onions with the maple syrup until soft and juicy. Reserve all the cooking juices to serve the burgers.

While the onions cook, preheat the grill to high heat and then grill the burgers to your desired “doneness.”

Serve the burgers on brioche buns, topped with cooked onions, additional Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango Salsa, and fresh cilantro.
