I wasn’t quite sure how the process would work and have to admit, I was a little anxious.
I’m a planner – which means I like to have things ready. Although these meal kits are actually for those who are NOT planners at heart – you really don’t have to do much – I was pleased that my big box of refrigerated goodies arrived at my doorstep by 10am. No worries there. Phew –
I opened the packaged and was so pleased to be greeted by a friendly note (personal notes make me feel so special – write a few of them a month, just for me) and a boatload of perfectly packaged meals, prepped and ready to go.

I was actually expecting some pretty basic meals – even though I’d seen the menu ahead of time – but was quite pleasantly surprised at the creativity and intricacy of flavors that appeared in my kitchen with only a tad bit of prestidigitation.
Nothing artificial here.
These aromatically amazing and unique flavor and spice combinations are nothing that the amateur home chef would whip together on a Wednesday night – or any week night. These meals are well thought out, intense, and highly impressive!
And they are so easy.
Rather than hunting down one measly teaspoon of each aromatic needed for a savory mole sauce, it’s all right there.
All I had to do was chop, sautéed, plate and eat.
And you know what was really great and made me smile superbly?
The step-by-step directions even instruct on how to plate and present the food.
The visual appeal is just as important as the flavor, in my mind.
And, you know what this picky palate also loved?
The portion size. Hearty – filling – and loaded with veggies! LOADED.

Endive & kale, pan sauce with sun-dried tomatoes
Savor Mediterranean flavors in this hearty seafood dish. Yellowfin tuna steaks are marinated in a tangy balsamic marinade, then seared to a tender finish. Topped with a briny pan sauce – featuring olives, capers, and sun-dried tomatoes – the fish is served with braised kale and endive. Piri-Piri Pork
Turmeric-roasted veggies & collards with coconut milk
A lively African-inspired dish to spice up early spring nights. Boneless pork chops are cooked in a bright and tangy piri-piri sauce (featuring roasted red peppers, ginger, lemon juice, and smoked paprika). They’re served alongside roasted cremini mushrooms and bell pepper studded with peas. Cumin-spiced collard greens – simmered in coconut milk – complete this meal.
Mole-Roasted Chicken
Sweet potato arepas & sautéed veggies
This savory dish is inspired by Mexican and South American cuisines. Chicken with hawaij (ha-WHY-edge) – a golden hued spice blend featuring turmeric, cumin, and cardamom – is pan seared, then roasted in a zesty mole sauce. It’s served alongside chili-seasoned arepas, made here with sweet potatoes and coconut flour. A side of sautéed veggies completes this meal.
And, just by chance, after mentioning my desire to pair this Mole Chicken with a lovely and lively Grenache, this amazing bottle was serendipitously placed in my hands. Phenomenal pairing!!!

Fascinating. So many of these are off balanced, in my opinion, with unnecessary carbs like white rice, noodles, and tortillas. This company doesn’t seem to do that. Thanks!
I agree, Mimi. Green Chef offers vegan, gluten free, Paleo, and Keto options. I went with the Paleo option and felt like it was very well balanced: hearty protein portions and heavy on the veggies 😊. And, it’s all organic and so fresh! In fact, the produce was far better than I can get at my local grocer!
