Lemon bars are classy.
They are a little bit fancy.
And they are super yummy when made with love and care, as well as fresh lemon juice!
Alongside a little bubbly, these lemon bars were a hit!
Luscious Lemon Bars
1/2 lb. butter, softened (2 sticks)
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. sea salt
zest of 2 lemons
4 eggs
zest of 2 lemons
juice of 4 large lemons
2 1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
powdered sugar
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Beat together the butter, flour, sugar, water, sea salt and lemon zest for the crust.
Spread over the bottom of a greased 9×12 pan.
Bake at 425 degrees for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees.
Beat together the eggs, remaining lemon zest and lemon juice, white sugar, and flour. The mixture should begin to thicken slightly.
Pour over the cooled crust and bake at 350 for an additional 30 minutes, until just beginning to brown.
Allow to cool completely, at least 4 hours or overnight.
Dust with additional powdered sugar before slicing and serving.
