Yes, sardines.

Did you know all the health benefits of these little suckers?  They are really quite amazing.  They are nutritional powerhouses!

Protein
Potassium
B12
Choline
and Omega 3s up the wazoo:

  • 670 mg EPA (omega 3)
  • 722 mg DHA (omega 3)

They are really, really easy to eat too.

They may look a little creepy, crawly scary at first on your plate.  But “hiding” and disguising the silvery slick skin results in some pretty awesome stuff!

Simply Sardines

Serves 1

1 5 oz. can Wild Planet Sardines in Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3/4 c. Paleo Zucchini Hummus (I always omit the garlic, as I’m pretty sensitive)
sea salt and pepper
1 large bell pepper (red, orange, yellow, or purple – or a combo of all colors)

Thoroughly smash the sardines into the hummus in a small bowl.  Halve the bell pepper, stuffing one side full of the sardine goodness and slicing the other half into sticks for dipping.

Flex your muscles.  You’re awesome!
