Labor Day is all about backyard BBQ fun ~ or camping fun where I come from…
To celebrate the holiday, I took the day off from cooking, after all, it is LABOR Day. But, I did a little research and decided to come up with the best looking Paleo BBQ recipes I could find for the holiday.
Appetizer:
No one can do wrong with Bacon Wrapped Dates at any kind of schindig, right?
How about Sarah Fragoso and Everyday Paleo’s Bacon Wrapped Figs while these mediterranean fruit delicacies are market-fresh
Salad:
A fresh, juicy, and delicious watermelon salad from Danielle at Against All Grain
Main Dish:
Ribs are appropriate, I believe. BBQ Ribs with a blueberry reduction sauce…hmm…that sounds pretty good – a mishmash of ideas from George at the Civilized Caveman and Juli at PaleOMG
Side Dish:
Why not change it up a bit and have some Cauliflower “Buttered” Popcorn from My Living Nutrition, just for fun?
The Perfect Veggies:
We can’t neglect heirloom tomatoes while they are still available! Michelle’s Tomato and Basil Salad from nom nom paleo will most certainly win your heart
Dessert:
And finally, we cannot forget an ice cream dessert for a BBQ gathering, right?
Roasted Peach and Lemon Thyme Ice Cream from Paleo Spirit. This looks and sounds divine.
Enjoy. No labor today – just Labor Day fun!
I’d probably like bacon-wrapped anything, but the figs sound great!
Oh well, OF COURSE! I thought wrapping figs was a really great idea – just to be a little bit different.
